Biography

Crystal Fighters is a London band installed in the center of the hurricane of music that sets a festive trend. The fault was first of two singles that in 2010 rose like the foam to the top of the blogosphere, “Xtatic Truth” and “I Love London”. It was difficult to find a label to define them: lo-fi tropical electro, electro-folk, folktronic? The three were accepted and some other. His mix of genres not only struck him as peculiar, but because they were being served live with an extra euphoria and passion. Referring to the Ibizan house, skimming the drum’n’bass and releasing adrenaline (them and the public) with the txalaparta, a traditional Basque percussion, embedded in its rain of rhythms. When they released their long debut, “Star Of Love”, at the end of that year the UK charts opened their arms: number 10 on the dance charts and 16 on the indie charts. In May 2013, his successor came, “Cave Rave”, a work they conceived in the Basque Country, territory that was an integral part of the sounds that inspired their first album. Recorded in Los Angeles and with Justin Meldal-Johnsen as a producer (in his curriculum, Beck, Air, M83 and Paramore, as well as a Grammy nominee), he changed the accent of his successor (who was more oriented towards a sort of organic techno , ancestral and tribal, between psychedelic and folkloric) and put the new emphasis on a kind of electronic and macro-creative pop. His audience multiplied in geometric progression, as well as its popularity. In 2016 they released their third LP, “Everything Is My Family”, which brought a more commercial tone to the achievements of its predecessor. Already in May 2018 the single “Boomin ‘In Your Jeep” was released, and in September the song “Another Level” was released, a theme included in the soundtrack of the FIFA 19 video game. Both the latter and “Goin’ Harder”, which arrived in November and where the Colombians Bomba Estéreo collaborate, are part of the EP “Hypnotic Sun”, also released in November last year, a work where in addition to the aforementioned “Another Level” and “Goin ‘Harder” appear two versions of a new theme, the electro-pop anthem “All My Love”, the second with an aura of future house that half-signed with the producer and British DJ Feed Me. Finally, on March 1, 2019, his fourth LP, “Gaia & Friends”, was released.
